Reno continue: drywall and some...

Being lazy or inventive? Probably both. It cost probably twice more then to build soffit (the frame around the duct)  by myself, but for me it will take a day or more and I’m not sure about quality of my carpentry skills, so I decided to go easier way – bought I-beams. It was the last thing in framing of the room and took all three of us to install, but it went quick and I was glad I thought about it :)

From now on I think the basement is the warmest room in the house :) We didn’t use fiberglass for insullation, I hate it, we went new way- stone fiber -fire, water, sound proof and no nasty glass dust.

Dry-walling on HGTV looks really easy, but in real life – it’s not. A lot  of cutting and plaster dust. Sometimes it took me a day to cut,  then in the eve we all three would put the panels in place. But we are moving forward. Archie always a big help :), for some reason, he likes to lay down on the  drywall sheets. Sometimes it takes a lot of convincing and treats to move him to the other location.

Meanwhile.... playing with fluorescent powder and resin for the inserts in my mini sink, brought old idea to life. For a long time I wanted to make mezuzah, but with kind of trick. So with fluorescent tesserae idea came glowing eye effect :o) Pretty cool, isn't it! :D
